The March issue of Plein Air magazine has just reached the newsstands, and a collector from Illinois happened the see a painting of city streets in Rome by Rick J. Delanty in that issue. It was a featured painting in the “Travel” portfolio, which included the work of eight landscape artists.

The painting, “After the Squall,” depicted the first occasion the artist had to visit and draw the Pantheon, surrounded by tourists admiring and making their way around the edifice on wet cobblestones. The Illinois resident contacted the artist’s wife about pricing information, and Lynn provided him with details about the piece, and the artist’s website, www.delantyfineart.com. His next contact was to let the artist know that he would be purchasing the work, to be shipped across the US. Even in reproduction, the collector told Lynn that the piece just “spoke to him” from the pages of the magazine.
