Highlights from the Paint Maui Plein Air Invitational, and a hello from the Borrego Art Institute’s event happening now!
Paint Maui Plein Air Invitational 2025 brought together 24 master plein air artists from around the globe to capture the beauty of Maui last month. The week-long celebration showcased the vibrant artistry of both local and visiting talents through live painting sessions, community events, lectures, and gallery exhibitions.

The prestigious Best of Show award was presented to Kathleen Hudson for her outstanding depiction of Maui’s natural splendor at dusk. Scott W. Prior received Best Body of Work, honoring his consistent excellence across multiple pieces.
Honorable Mentions were awarded to Michael Clements, Bill Suys, and Tiffanie Mang, each recognized for their exceptional skill and creative vision.
The invitational highlighted the power of plein air art to connect people, nature, and community — leaving a lasting impression on Maui’s cultural landscape.
A percentage of the net proceeds help to support Lahaina Restoration Foundation and their efforts to preserve and rebuild the historic sites of Lahaina.
