The Sheridan Arts Foundation recently held the 12th Annual Telluride Plein Air event, hosting 31 artists for a weeklong paint-out culminating in a three-day exhibition and sale in Colorado.

Artists’ Choice awards were given to three participants, with Carl Bretzke winning First Place and $1,000, John P. Lasater IV earning Second Place and a full-page ad in PleinAir magazine, and Patrick Saunders taking Third Place and a ¼-page ad in Southwest Art. Danny Griego, of San Diego, Calif., won the Quick Draw competition. Mat Barber Kennedy, from Chicago, won the $1,000 People’s Choice award, with Kirsten Anderson getting Honorable Mention.

Organizers report a 30 percent jump in revenue from last year’s take, with part of the proceeds going to the Sheridan Arts Foundation. Applications for next year’s event will begin on Oct. 1.
