Thirteen awards were given out at the conclusion of the 2013 Maui Plein Air Invitational in Hawaii, including the Best in Show prize presented to Ken Auster. He received a $1,000 cash award from the event sponsors: Islanders — Hawaii Plein Air Painters, the Village Galleries, and West Maui Cultural Council. In addition, Auster won a half-page ad in an upcoming issue of PleinAir magazine.

Colin Page won the Artists’ Choice award; Randall Sexton was chosen for the Irvine Museum Award; and Michael Clements, Colin Page, and Scott W. Prior received Honorable Mention awards. Prior also went home with the Makana Aloha Foundation award, while Thomas Jefferson Kitts received the Pioneer Inn Quickdraw Award.

Auster also picked up the Pacific ‘O Restaurant Award, while Ronaldo Macedo won the County of Maui Office of Economic Development/Hawaii Tourism Authority Award. Michael Clements was selected to received the Maui No Ka Ê»Oi magazine award; while Pierre Bouret won the KaÊ»anapali Land Management Corp. Award — Carlton Hawaiian Award.
