The Wayne Art Center (Pennsylvania) celebrated the opening of the 15th Annual Wayne Plein Air Exhibition during the Collectors’ Preview & Sale recently. Following five-and-a-half days of painting within 35 miles of Wayne, 32 nationally recognized artists created over 300 original paintings of the area’s unique landscapes, historic architecture, and lush scenery.

From the organizers:

Shanna Kunz of Utah was this year’s Juror of Awards. Her award-winning work has been included in many prestigious national exhibitions and featured in major art publications, including PleinAir™ Magazine and Fine Art Connoisseur. She is a member of Plein Air Painters of Utah, the American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America, and the American Tonalist Society.

Kunz awarded $20,000 in prizes to the top paintings and was quite impressed with the talent on display at this year’s festival. “The top four paintings were amazing and each one made me come back to them again and again,” said Kunz. “I’ve traveled all over the country and the Wayne Art Center Plein Air Festival is one of the very best in the United States.”
