A Plein Air Today Reader Spotlight

“Leo Carrillo State Beach at Sequit Point in California is my favorite place to paint for many reasons,” says Marian Fortunati.

“First, it’s where I started learning to paint outside with my mentor, David C. Gallup.

“Second, because it is always changing – through the years, the seasons, the weather, and the time of day.

“And third, because while I can paint away quietly by myself or with friends, there are always people out enjoying themselves at Leo, and it’s fun to share their joy.

“I have many, many, many paintings done en plein air from Leo and have created a wide variety of studio paintings using the plein air studies as inspiration.”
