Artist members of Plein Air Austin (PAA) have donated their paintings of 15 Austin fire stations to the Austin Fire Department. These original artworks feature Austin fire stations, old and new, painted on location over the past two years by PAA members as part of the group’s weekend paint-outs around town. Donating these paintings is intended to document Austin history and show appreciation to the city’s firefighters.

“[This] has really been popular with our group and is a great way to show our gratitude to the brave first responders here in Austin, Texas,” said PAA member Baron Wilson.

Plein Air Austin continues this Paint Out series as a way to honor the men and women of the AFD along with other First Responders of the Emergency Medical Services. Cheers to Vice President and artist, Paul Matula, who came up with the initial idea.
