During a recent paint-out, Lorenzo Chavez was the special guest of both the Plein Air Artists of Colorado (PAAC) and the Pastel Society of Colorado (PSC) at the Hidden Mesa Open Space near Castle Rock, Colorado.

Debby McAllister, PAAC Location Coordinator, organized this day of painting for members of both organizations. Some were attracted to the distant hills, some to the old barns and farmhouse, and some to the wintry river banks. Everyone found their own inspiration, and enjoyed the picnic-table gallery showing after the paint-out and before a group lunch. Many wonderful paintings were created — some may even be entered into PAAC’s upcoming National Juried show at Abend Gallery in Denver (August 10-30, 2013). PAAC posts weekly paint-out schedules year-round on its website for five regional groups: Denver, Denver South, Boulder, Fort Collins, and Southern Colorado.
