For the fourth year, artists were invited to paint downtown Akron, Ohio, and show their resulting plein air pieces in an exhibition. Awards were given to top paintings, and the juror, Laurence Channing, chose a mixture of pieces that ranged from traditional to some showing more modern sensibilities.

First Place went to Thomas Bagiackas for “Three Days in June.” Second Place was won by Ann Emmitt for “Akron Art Museum I,” and Julie Holman earned Third Place for “City Birds.” Larry Churski, Michele Knapper, Susan Cone Porges, and Tiffany Southall won Honorable Mention awards.
