Alan Maciag is the featured artist in the exhibition “A Rural Perspective: Paintings of the Michigan Landscape,” on view through August 27 at Twisted Fish Gallery in Elk Rapids, Michigan.

The 65 oil paintings are plein air pieces showing scenes “from Midland to Charlevoix.” When we asked for a further comment, Maciag begged off — he had been out painting all day and was bushed. That is the best possible reason to refuse comment.
