“Looking West”
5 x 7 in.

Initially excited about her entrance into the creative world, Candice McCown was quickly struck with the awesome realities and self-criticisms that brought her art gusto to a brief but sudden stop. However, after a revelation, she came to terms with her skills and desires as a professional artist, the brush remarried her hand, and they’ve barely been parted since.

Despite finding a niche in landscape, she is always seeking to broaden her repertoire with workshops and classes, learning from many great artists of today.
After she became comfortable in her knowledge of good painting technique, she began experimenting on her canvas. Candice finally accepted the loose and expressive brushstrokes of the art she so appreciated and adopted them as her own style.

Candice graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2004 with a degree in Art Studio, focusing on Graphic Design, and she currently pursues her passion of fine art alongside her career.

Candice is a member of Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, and American Women Artists.

Candice will be participating in the Creative Harvest show at the Historic Hopewell Museum in Paris, Kentucky, opening on September 12 and running through November 14, 2014.
