Chula Beauregard Art Show at Cogswell Gallery March 4th & 5th:
Cogswell Gallery is excited to present a solo show with oil painter Chula Beauregard. For Beauregard, it was the love of an outdoor lifestyle and the West that has inspired her to paint en plein air. Over the years, Beauregard has captured marvelous Colorado scenes including landscapes and sports scenes in the Vail Valley.
At a young age Beauregard quickly fell in love with art as a way to explore her world. Soon she was enjoying skiing, hiking, and also cruising on a sailboat with her family on extended trips to the Bahamas. It was here that Chula’s love of painting emerged as they spent hours documenting and exploring their appreciation of the beauty of the Caribbean through art.
“I am constantly searching. For the light that hits you like a thunderbolt. For the relationship of color that sings. For the truth that I see in the world that sets everything in place. My paintings are the fruit of my search.” It is Beauregard’s perseverance and commitment to her life-long passion of oil painting that has led her to become an award winning artist. After graduating cum laude as a Studio Art major from Whitman College, she served for two years in Gabon, Central Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Later she earned her Master’s in Education to teach Fine Art. Beauregard currently pursues her painting career in her hometown of Steamboat Springs, CO, but often wanders the West with her family of two young boys and adventure-loving husband.
