Nebraska artist Debra Joy Groesser paints many subjects but is best known for her impressionistic landscape oil paintings, particularly her plein air work. “Painting is such a spiritual experience for me. Nothing inspires me more than being out on location, capturing the subtle nuances of color, light and atmosphere that can only be achieved by painting from nature.” She has participated in countless juried and invitational exhibitions across the country and has won numerous awards for her work. Debra and her work have been featured in several national art publications including a feature article in the October/November 2014 issue of PleinAir magazine. She was a faculty member at the 2014 and 2015 Plein Air Conventions in Monterey, CA. Debra has also been interviewed for numerous blogs and two talk radio shows. She was commissioned by Omaha Performing Arts in 2011 to paint a 4×6 foot portrait of Richard and Mary Holland, which hangs permanently at the Holland Performing Arts Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Debra is CEO/President and a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society, and a Signature Member of Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, Plein Air Artists Colorado and American Plains Artists. She is an associate member of Oil Painters of America. Debra is represented by SouthWind Art Gallery, Topeka, Kansas; Mary Williams Fine Art, Boulder, Colorado; and Vanessa Rothe Fine Art, Laguna Beach, California.
