“Green Peace” is a plein air piece painted at the Olmstead Plein Air Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia, in April, 2015, deep in the urban forest designed and built 100 years ago by the designer of New York City’s Central Park, Fredrick Law Olmsted. Tankersley sought to convey the sense of quiet and harmony with nature that Olmsted intended for this tiny strip of parkland located in the midst of a bustling city.

Nancy Tankersley paints from her studio in Easton, Maryland, and in plein air events nationally and internationally. The artist enjoys painting all subject matter including figures and still life. A Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society, Tankersley teaches classes and workshops through Easton Studio (www.easton-studio.com) and also travels to teach.
