“Peace in the Valley”
12×16 in., acrylic on board
Available at Mission Gallery in St. George, Utah
Rick is currently represented by Jane Bell Meyer’s Mission Gallery in St. George, Utah. “I paint because I appreciate life. I hope that those who connect with my work will be uplifted to reflect on the original works of God that surround us.”
His subjects feature California and The West coast, its oceans and landscapes. He paints in both acrylics and oils, seeing in each medium advantages for portraying different aspects of a subject. Plein air and studio work make up his portfolio, as Rick believes that painting from life transfers authenticity and originality to the studio experience.
‘Peace in the Valley’ is a result of a painting trip to N. California, and is an acrylic painting. “Acrylics allow me to paint in quickly-drying layers, and to experiment with options during the painting process.’”
Rick is a Signature member of several organizations, including Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and American Impressionist Society. He is an artist member of the California Art Club and Salmagundi Club, and OPA. He participates in national shows, and has been an award-winner in Bold Brush and Plein Air Salon competitions. One of Rick’s works has been acquired for the permanent collection of the Irvine Museum.
