The historic Greenbrier resort in scenic West Virginia is the site for a week of premium artist demonstrations, presentations, and sales.
Held in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, the Greenbrier Fine Art Week brings recognized professional artists and art historians together to share their talents and knowledge. The week’s events are hosted by the famed Greenbrier resort and Walls Fine Art Gallery, located in the resort’s main shopping corridor.
This is a rare opportunity for art lovers and collectors to observe some of today’s most accomplished landscape painters at work and to hear them explain their process through demonstrations and presentations. The artists attending the week’s activities are: Gil Dellinger, John Poon, Charles Movalli, Dale Ratcliff, Randall Sexton, Perry Austin, M. Stephen Doherty, Larry Moore, TM Nicholas, Kevin Macpherson, Roger Dale Brown, William Maughan, and Robert Isley. These artists will be hard at work painting on the grounds of the Greenbrier and the surrounding Lewisburg area each day of Greenbrier Fine Art Week.
Of course, a week with artists of this caliber would not be complete without collecting chances. A First Look! Party on the morning of October 25 will allow viewers to purchase paintings executed over the course of the week. Additionally, one fortunate attendee will win “Mountain Spring,” an original 16-by-36-inch oil painting by featured painter Perry Austin. The First Look! Party will run from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Later in the week, Fine Art Connoisseur editor Peter Trippi and PleinAir magazine editor M. Stephen Doherty will offer presentations that are sure to be highlights amid the festivities. Trippi and Doherty will collaborate on a presentation regarding “The Changing Role of Art Magazines,” and Trippi will offer a second lecture with a richly illustrated slideshow on the topic of “What’s Next for Contemporary Realist Art?”
