A celebrated historic painter of the American West, John Mix Stanley receives a retrospective exhibition that tours three Western art venues.
“Painted Journeys: The Art of John Mix Stanley” runs June 6 through August 29 in the Special Exhibitions Gallery of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. Following its display there, the exhibition travels to the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma (October 3, 2015-January 3, 2016) and the Tacoma Art Museum in Tacoma, Washington (January 30-May 1, 2016).
