A selection of impressive figurative, landscape, and still life works from women artists of the Southeastern U.S. comprises the WPSE Members’ Show.
 
A juried exhibition and sale from the talented artists of the Women Painters of the Southeast (WPSE) is nearing its end. The 2014 Members’ Show is on view at Magnolia Art Gallery in Greensboro, Georgia, through April 18.

The WPSE Members’ Exhibition is an important event for this collective, which aims to promote female artists from the Southeastern United States whose work is representational in nature. The WPSE’s third annual juried show doled out more than $13,000 in cash and prizes.

Jane Chapin led this year’s group of award winners, taking Best in Show and a $5,000 cash award for her poignant figurative painting “Tangled Up in Blues.” Marsha Summers Chandler‘s still life “Vegetable Medley,” Marjorie Hicks‘s portrait “Ode to Richard MacDonald,” and Nancy Nowak‘s vibrant “Sunset Over the Atlantic” took First, Second, and Third Place, respectively.

Deserving artists Debra Nadelhoffer, Katie Dobson Cundiff, Arlene Daniel, Kathleen Haynes, Sandra Witty, Margaret Dyer, Marion Hylton, Leslie Davis, and Vicki Bartholomew were also recognized with a range of awards. The full catalogue of the exhibition is published online.
