Dan Schultz won the PleinAir Magazine Award of Excellence at last year’s AIS salon for this painting.

Entries are now being accepted for one of the nation’s most prestigious exhibitions for plein air painters.

The annual juried exhibition of the American Impressionist Society is not limited to plein air paintings, but outdoor landscapes are a natural fit for the show. In the exhibition’s previous 15 years, big names in the plein air world have taken top prizes.

The exhibition will be hosted by Trailside Galleries’ Scottsdale, Arizona, location October 1-29. Carolyn Anderson will serve as judge. Best of Show earns the winner a cool $12,000, with Second Place yielding $8,000 and Third Place awarding $4,000. Another four awards have $1,000 attached to each of them.

Entries will be accepted until June 8. Go here for more information.
