Create! Eugene, an alliance of businesses and art-advocacy groups in Eugene, Oregon, is hosting the third annual plein air competition there, with Kat Sowa serving as juror. The event opens on the evening of Aug. 21 with a social event, then painters have from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 22 to paint their pieces. It concludes Aug. 23 with a breakfast with the juror. The top prize is $500 plus $300 in art materials from Oregon Art Supply.
