The weather has cooled off and the painting is good in “the Heartland of Florida,” so plein air painters should consider a trip to DeSoto County for a November 16 event.
The DeSoto Arts and Humanities Council is hosting the Arcadia Paint Out in Arcadia, Florida, on that date. A reception will be held at the Martin Art Gallery from 5 to 7 p.m., at which time the winners will be announced, the guests will vote for the People’s Choice, and cash prizes will be awarded. Joseph Palmerio will serve as juror.
The town of Arcadia has abundant 19th-century architecture and is located an hour from Tampa and 90 minutes from Orlando. Register online at the council’s website.
