The NC Open Plein Air Paint Out is an open competition, but organizers recommend that artists register in advance to ensure that the event is ready for their arrival. The details?

More than $1,700 in prizes will be awarded. The entry fee is $20; students pay $5. The event runs August 14 and 15 in Salisbury, North Carolina. John Ebersberger, the judge of the show, is offering a workshop before the event. (It is sold out, but there is a waiting list.) Participants are invited to show two pieces from the paint-out at F&M Trolley Barn.
