Plein Air Easton is a big deal in July, but in September, a smaller event called the Riverside Festival of the Arts offers a more modest, fall alternative.

The Arts Community of Easton sponsors the plein air contest at the Riverside Festival of the Arts, another chance to paint the scenic riverside Pennsylvania town. This is the 20th year for the festival. “There is no lack of natural beauty and personality here for inspiration,” says the organizer. “Easton is situated at the edge of New Jersey where the Lehigh meets the Delaware River, and it’s loaded with historic buildings and a multitude of river and bridge views.”
