Artists are starting to gravitate toward the Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Arts, held in Pawleys Island, located 40 minutes north of Charleston, South Carolina. Who were the winners in its second year?

The plein air portion of the festival is called Seaside Palette, and this year Kellie Jacobs took First Place with her painting “Kaleidoscope.” Tammy Medlin won Second Place, and Laurie Meyer won Third. Margaret Little and Ruth Cox won Honorable Mention. Paula Holtzclaw served as juror.

There were many waterside spots to paint in the Pawleys Island area.

Painters set up along the boardwalk.

Artists painted the harbor, boardwalk, historic homes, and other scenes in Georgetown County.
