Watercolor painting of a bridge
“Bridge at Villas Lagoons” James Faecke 2020, watercolor, 14 x 10 in. Private collection Plein air

Paintings of Water > There’s something about water in motion that draws us in and and fires our imaginations. It’s no wonder then that generations of artists have been inspired to set up their easels and document the the peaceful, meandering flow of lazy rivers and bubbling brooks, or the drama and power of waterfalls. In these paintings, contemporary artists take us to the water’s edge to showcase these jewels of the landscape in all their glory.

  1. Beautiful paintings. I don’t know if this would be the location, but I have a suggestion for an Artist that your magazine might be interested in reviewing. He is basically a plein air painter however he does have studio classes that he has on YouTube and UScreen. His name is George Coll. I have been watching his videos for several months now and he is impressive in his quick paintings, which average about a 1hour 30 minutes.

  2. One of the amazing sources for creativity and joy! The portrayed arts are highly impressive and inspiring! thanks..

  3. I’m really happy that you are showing a variety of mediums, this is one of my favorite themes, and this is a lovely selection. I hope I will someday join this impressive group of artists with my own work in acrylic and pastel.
