Pastel Painting Spotlight > Congratulations to Jane McGraw-Teubner, whose main focus is painting landcapes both en plein air and in the studio.

Jane McGraw-Teubner lives in East Northport, New York, where she has been teaching pastel painting for over 15 years. She is a former instructor at The Teaching Studios of Art in Oyster Bay, NY and presently teaches in her home and at the Atelier at Flowerfield in St. James.
Jane is a Signature Member and a Master Pastelist in the Pastel Society of America. She received her “Eminent Pastelist” designation from the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS) in June. (From the IAPS website: The Eminent Pastelist honor has been designed to recognize those artists who have continued to have work accepted and/or awarded in IAPS juried competitions after achieving Master Circle level.)
She will be on the faculty of the 2nd annual Pastel Live virtual art conference, August 18-20, 2022.

Jane’s main focus is in landscapes, painted en plein air and in the studio. She has been featured on the cover of Pastel Journal and PleinAir Magazine. In 2019 her pastel painting “Journey To The Edge” was accepted into the Permanent Collection of the Salmagundi Art Club in New York City. In 2014 and 2015, she was invited to be a demonstrator and a field artist at the Plein Air Convention held in Monterey, CA, hosted by PleinAir Magazine.

She is included in “Pure Pastel,” a book featuring contemporary works by today’s top pastel artists, released in 2019. Jane is on the Board of Directors for the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club where she volunteers in various activities and was elected “Member of the Year” in 2020.
