Wayne Art Center celebrated the opening of its 16th Annual Plein Air Festival Exhibition during the Collectors’ Preview & Sale on Friday, May 10. Beginning Sunday, May 5, the 32 nationally acclaimed outdoor artists selected by juror Jill Carver, a Signature Member of the Plein Air Painters of America, created nearly 300 original paintings capturing this Pennsylvania area’s lush scenery, historical architecture, and unique landscapes.
During the evening’s festivities, Carver awarded $25,000 in cash prizes to the top paintings, along with numerous donations from industry sponsors. “I was so impressed with the work created by these talented artists,” said Carver. “The urge to create beautiful things is a gift that we happy tribe of painters are lucky to have.”
