The Plein Air Painters of New Mexico recently announced the winners in the Plein Air Santa Fe event, with Mike Mahon taking the top prize. 

Mahon won Best of Show for his piece “Chama Escarpment.” Second Place went to Damien Gonzales for “Abiquiu Cliffs,” and Third went to Richard Prather for “Monastery Road.” Michael Meyer won the Award of Excellence — Oil for “Doc,” and Maryann McGraw won Award of Excellence — Pastel for “Velum and Virga.”

“Monastery Road” by Richard Prather won Third Place.

Best Nocturne went to Tobi Clement for “Venus Rising,” while the Quick Draw was won by Lisa Flynn. Second in the Quick Draw was Tobi Clement, and Third was Mike Mahon. Honorable Mention went to Fran Ellisor, Rajen Chanchani, and Nancy Silvia.


Lisa Flynn won the Quick Draw with this piece, “Bridge at Delgado.”

The Paint-Out was held June 8-13, with more than 50 artists participating. The pieces created will be on view at InArt Gallery in Santa Fe through July 6. For more information, visit PAPNM’s website.
