An important repository for Western-themed representational art, Greenhouse Gallery presents a selection of landscape and figurative paintings this February.
 
Greenhouse Gallery of Fine Art in San Antonio, Texas, hosts an exhibition of local, regional, and national artists working in Western genres. The exhibition opens January 31 and will remain on view through February 22. An opening reception will be held on February 7, from 6-8 p.m.

Greenhouse Gallery’s artist roster includes some of the most prominent names in contemporary Western and landscape painting. Those artists featured in the present exhibition include Cliff Cavin, Paul Cheng, Karen Cooper, Bill Davidson, Mark Keathley, Myra Knapp, Joseph Orr, Adair Payne, Darcie Peet, Noe Perez, and Kathryn Stats.

The paintings on view include powerful coastal seascapes from Davidson, serene forested scenes from Orr and Payne, and Darcie Peet’s majestic renderings of Glacier National Park in Montana. The exhibition also features Cheng’s portraits of Native tribal chiefs and leaders, painted with a sense of iconic importance.

Greenhouse Gallery famously hosts the annual, internationally renowned painting competition Salon International, which goes on display in April.
