An event on October 19 in Texas sounds more like a perfect vacation than a painting session.
The Art League of Bay City, which is south of Houston, is sponsoring a plein air outing for interested painters in the area. The event will be on the Letulle Ranch, in Matagorda County on the Colorado River, and Chuck Rawle will be offering instruction to participants.
A posting by the league on Facebook describes “a koi fish swimming pool with a beach table and chairs in the shallow end with sand,” barbecue sandwiches for lunch, and 1,500 acres accessible by truck or simply enjoyed from the landscaped patio. Clearly, even if everything is not bigger in Texas, it may at times be better.
