The varied landscape of Meeker, Colorado, is the focus of an event running June 15-July 4 called Plein Air Meeker.

The top prize is $1,000 at this event, which is run by the Meeker Chamber of Commerce. According to the organizer, “Meeker is known for its wide-ranging landscapes, from high mountains to low desert with rivers and rocks, all easily accessible, within 30 minutes of town.” Within Meeker, artists can paint the small, historic downtown, or they can venture out to the White River National Forest.
