January 30 will be here before you know it — those interested in participating in the 4th Annual Finger Lakes Plein Air Competition and Festival should make plans to submit an application before that deadline. Here’s how.

The event, which will be held in Canandaigua, New York, from June 10 to June 15, is offering a top prize of $3,000 and more than $7,000 in total. Nancy Tankersley will serve as juror.

Previous winners will be invited back, along with 40 additional artists. The application form and details are available here.

  1. Hi Fran! This article originally ran several years ago, and it looks like their website (linked above) no longer works. I did a Google search and found they have a Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/FingerLakesPleinAir/, but it looks like they haven’t been active since 2020. We often announce new competitions throughout the US (and beyond), so you might consider signing up for our newsletter here: https://www.outdoorpainter.com/plein-air-today-newsletter/. I wish you all the best!
