Lynne Price found a painting in a puddle.

Lead Image: “Simple Beauty,” by Lynne Price, 2015, oil on panel, 6 x 6 in.

The Georgia artist was on the last day of her “30 in 30 En Plein Air” challenge … and it was raining hard. No worries for a person with artist’s eyes. “My artistic path, my goal with all of my artwork, is to portray beauty, to show others what they might have missed,” says Price. “That day, all I had to do was step out onto my porch and look. The rain had pooled on our sidewalk and the forest was reflected in the puddles, a microcosm in a macrocosm. The soft pearl grays and blues were highlighted by sparkling sky shine. Red pine needles and citrine grass were natural warm elements that supported the coolness of a rainy day. Beauty can be found in the most simple things.”
