“I love to paint en plein air in pastels in the areas where I live in Colorado,” said Plein Air Today reader Jill Knutson.
“Our area is becoming ‘discovered’ as more and more people who live in cities and suburban places move here. I have found over the years that some of the buildings and places I painted in the past are now gone, developed with new housing or altered in other ways.
“In a way I feel I am recording a bit of history. My resulting painting is then a record of what was.”
