The Sheridan Arts Foundation recently held the 14th Annual Telluride Plein Air event, hosting world-class artists for a weeklong paint-out culminating in a three-day exhibition and sale in Colorado.
Telluride Plein Air in Colorado is arguably one of the most exciting events in the world of plein air competitions. Consistently attracting many of the country’s best painters, the quaint mountain town offers infinite majestic vistas that defy the imagination.

The event’s 14th installment wrapped up July 4, with the winners announced less than a week ago. The ever-talented Suzie Greer Baker took home First Place in 2017 for her amazing work titled “Alpenglow.” Wayne McKenzie was the Second Place winner for “The Goose,” while Liz Haywood-Sullivan received Third Place for her nocturne “First Night in Telluride.”

As expected, the event also hosted a quick draw, which was won by artist Kathleen Lanzoni. Finally, awards for People’s Choice were doled out to Wayne McKenzie (First Place), Mat Barber Kennedy (Second Place), and Kathleen Lanzoni (Third Place).
