New Berlin, Wisconsin, population 39,700, just outside of Milwaukee, hosted the 2nd Annual New Berlin Plein Air Painting Competition September 5 through 9. The event, which was sponsored in part by Wisconsin Plein Air Painters Association, exhibited the winning pieces at the New Berlin Historic Society Museum.

Matthew Holt took Best of Show for his piece “Ray’s ’63 Deere.” Darron Lillian won First Place with his pastel “Swarts Road,” and James Hempel earned Second Place for his oil painting “Sun Streaks on a Two Track Road.” The Third Place award went to Lori Beringer for “Timeless.” For more information, visit WIPAPA’s blog.
