On October 22, the Catalina Island Conservancy will host the Seventh Annual “Catalina: The Wild Side Art Show” featuring the works of 10 nationally recognized plein air artists!
“The artists capture beautiful portraits of the Conservancy’s protection and restoration of the Island,” says Tony Budrovich, president and CEO of the Catalina Island Conservancy. “This event is an exceptional opportunity to support the Conservancy’s unique use of art for conservation’s sake.”
Of course, Budrovich is referring to the 7th annual “Catalina: The Wild Side Art Show,” which opens at the Balboa Yacht Club in Newport Beach, California, on October 22. From Avalon to Two Harbors, 10 nationally known plein air painters have focused their creative attention on the lands stewarded by the Catalina Island Conservancy — “the wild side,” as it’s called.
Among the artists featured this year are Cindy Baron, Brian Blood, Don Demers, Kathleen Dunphy, Debra Huse, Laurie Kersey, Kim Lordier, Michael Obermeyer, Ron Rencher, and Brian Stewart.
The ticketed event has two openings to choose from: Priority Admission allows attendees into the show at 1:30 PM and gives them the opportunity to purchase paintings before the show opens to the public. These tickets must be purchased in advance here. General Admission tickets will have access to the show beginning at 2:30 PM. Limited General Admission tickets will be available the day of the show for $125.
