The 2nd Annual Paint the Point plein air competition wrapped up recently in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. And the winners are….
 
Best of Show was worth $1,200, and it was won by Lori Beringer for her piece “Presence.” Juror Jeff Stevenson, director of the gallery at Governors State University in University Park, Illinois, explains his choice in a video posted on Arts Mineral Point’s Facebook page.
 


“Weathered Red,” by Lisa Stauffer. First Place


“Pendarvis House,” by James Faecke. Second Place


“334 High Street,” by John Preston. Third Place

 
First Place went to Lisa Stauffer for her painting “Weathered Red.” Second was won by James Faecke for “Pendarvis House,” while Third Place was earned by John Preston for “334 High Street.” Jan Norsetter won Honorable Mention.
 


“Sybil,” by Nyle Gordon. Winner of Nocturne competition


“Morning Glare,” by John Preston. Winner of Quick Paint competition

 
Preston was also the winner of the Quick Paint competition, winning with his piece “Morning Glare.” Richard Abraham won Second in the Quick Paint competition, and Spencer Meagher won Third.
 


“Cast Shadows,” by Spencer Meagher. Winner of YumYum Award

 
Arts Mineral Point also held a nocturne competition, which was won by Nyle Gordon’s “Sybil.” Thomas Buchs won Second, and Stephanie Weidner won Third. The YumYum Award was given to Spencer Meagher.
 
The event is run by Arts Mineral Point.
