Joseph W. Palmerio served as judge at Paint the Beach, the recent plein air event in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. Who did he pick?
 
Neil Walling took First Place, sponsored by PleinAir magazine and Santini Marina Plaza, for his oil painting “Bowditch Beach.” Second Place went to David Belling for his watercolor “Shrimpers Workshop,” and Third Place was won by Barb Valentine for “Afternoon Light.”

Christa Friedl won a special award for Most Representative of the Beach for her piece “Shrimp Boats.” Neil Walling won People’s Choice for “High of 90 Degrees.” The event presented two Merit Awards: Katherine McMahon won for her “Matanzas Pass,” and Peter Zell won with “1930 Cottage on Estero Blvd.”
 
Michele Barron Buelow, Mary Klunk, Velda Musgrove, Randy Pitts, Linda Richichi, and Manon Sander won Honorable Mention.

There was a Quick Draw competition, with Ava Roeder choosing Sandi McCabe’s “Sunny Days” for First Place, Neil Walling’s “Follow Me” for Second, and Gail Trent Risner’s “Cool Beach House” for Third. Honorable Mention went to Claudia Moriarty and Linda Richichi.
 
Patty O’Kane judged the student division in the Quick Draw, awarding First Place to Meghan Stanwood, Second Place to Anderson Eraus, Third Place to Rebecca Casimir, and Honorable Mention to Timmy Le and Angeliris Llorens.
