A recent event in Sonoma allowed collectors to view pieces by friends of established painters, enriching an exhibition, exposing new artists to potential buyers, and making for a friendly painting event.
Christopher Queen Gallery, in Duncan Mills, California, hosted the event “Kindred Spirits” on October 6, in which a select group of artists from the gallery’s stable were asked to invite a painter friend to join them in depicting the quaint town near Sonoma County’s Pacific coast.
Christopher Queen Gallery owner Nancy Ferreira poses with Richard Lindenberg.
Gallery artist Christine Crozier invited Sibyl Johnson to come along and paint with her. Jane Hofstetter invited Carolyn Hofstetter. Paul Kratter invited PleinAir magazine’s own Richard Lindenberg, who went on to snag the People’s Choice Award in the event. Sergio Lopez invited Anton Pavlenko, and Bart Walker asked Craig Zuger to join him.
Craig Zuger was awarded Best of Show, Paul Kratter won First Place, Anton Pavlenko took Second Place, and Bart Walker won Third Place in the competition.
The resulting work will be on view at Christopher Queen Gallery through November.
