While plein air painters in the northern parts of the country already have their ear flaps down and their parkas on, folks in Florida are still painting on the beach. And winning awards….
Fort Myers’s Paint the Beach — Sandcastles to Shrimp Boats competition wrapped up last week, and Neil Walling took the top prize for “Reflections.” David Belling took Second Place with his piece “Day Two,” while Third Place went to Jeannette Chupak for her piece “The Cottages.” The Quick Draw was won by Sal Sidner. More than 50 artists participated in the event, which was organized by the Fort Myers Beach Art Association.
