Cats aren’t the only critters who appreciate art instruction. It seems that artist Michael Chesley Johnson was a hit among the hens last week when he taught a workshop in Valparaiso, Indiana.

The locale was a picture-perfect scene of rural beauty. The chickens came with the territory. Johnson remained unfazed. “Chickens, ducks, and other barnyard critters are always regular participants at my annual plein air workshop at the Art Barn School of Art,” he says.
