Jeanne McKinney is a Plein Air and Studio artist primarily painting landscapes in the medium of soft pastel.

The painting, “Fog At Christmas Cove, Monhegan Island, Maine,” was painted on location on the first of several foggy days on Jeanne’s annual painting trip to the Island.

Monhegan Island is located about ten miles off the coast of Maine and is reachable by ferry ride across the open Atlantic Ocean.

“I enjoy and appreciate being part of the tradition of generations of artists who have come to Monhegan since the 19th century to paint this challenging terrain and its’ rugged natural beauty — high cliffs and headlands, craggy rocks and crashing surf.”

Jeanne resides in Central Pennsylvania where she enjoys fly fishing, hiking, and painting the farmlands, streams and woods that surround her. “I strive to capture the spirit of this beautiful landscape so that others may enjoy and be enriched by that which inspires me.”

Her award-winning work is exhibited in juried national exhibitions, in local and museum shows, and in private and corporate collections.

Jeanne’s professional affiliations include juried Associate Member of the Pastel Society of America, Signature membership in the Central Pennsylvania Pastel Society, and memberships in the Degas Pastel Society, the Pastel Society of New Hampshire, the American Impressionist Society and the International Association of Pastel Societies.
