Art in the Open - Ireland - PleinAir Podcast

In this PleinAir Podcast, Eric Rhoads interviews three organizers from Ireland’s plein air event, “Art in the Open,” which starts Saturday, July 27 and runs through August 5, 2019. Listen to discover how it differs from plein air festivals in the U.S, and how it expanded to an international event.

Art In The Open (www.artintheopen.org) is the largest plein air painting festival in Europe. Now in its 12th year, the festival has grown to a 10-day, internationally recognized event with 200 artists taking part. It attracts some of the best outdoor painters from around the globe. Renowned for its friendliness and relaxed atmosphere, participants can be seen painting the wonderful sunny landscapes leading up to the exhibition. The event is open to everybody on payment of a registration fee.
