Kyle Buckland senses that when the weather gets bad, it can have a positive effect on a plein air piece.

“I hunkered down today behind my old truck to capture the first of today’s frigid snow squalls,” he relates. “When the elements work against you, it really requires a mental intensity to stay in the game and finish a painting. Usually this intensity comes through as energy in the finished painting.”
