"Seeing the Landscape Through my Art", July 25 to August 8, Tupper Art, Tupper Lake NY

How did you get started and then develop your career?
Michael Rossi: “Seeing the landscape through my art”

Michael Rossi is a self-taught artist who became interested in oil painting at the age of twelve. After completing high school, Michael continued to work on his own, learning different techniques to enhance his paintings. In his mid-twenties, he focused on a career and family while finding a creative outlet in landscape photography. Michael began to paint again in his late thirties, taking a particular interest in painting en plein air. He continues to participate in workshops and to study videos of current artists whose work inspires him.

Michael’s work is heavily influenced by his travel throughout the Northeast, some of his favorite painting locations being the Adirondacks, the White Mountains, and the Maine coast. He continues to learn and hone his techniques with the aim of sharing his experiences of travel through his artwork.

Michael Rossi grew up in northern New Jersey, where he currently resides.
