Ron Boehmer won Best of Show at the 5th Annual Mountain Maryland Plein Air event, held June 1 through 16 in Western Maryland. See his winning entry and other winners after the jump.

The event, sponsored by the Allegany Arts Council, attracted 30 selected artists. Boehmer is a fan of the festival. “The great thing about Mountain Maryland is having the choice of painting anywhere within two counties,” he says. “This offers a broad range of subject matter.

“This was my third year participating, and the best so far — not because of winning Best in Show (although that is always nice) but because I was more acquainted with the regional landscape — and have met several great folks over those previous years, so I had a good chance to visit and catch up. Also, the weather this year was great — wonderful skies.”
