In this weekly series Kelly Kane, Editor-in-Chief of Plein Air Magazine, shares a favorite painting and artist quote from a recent issue.
Kelly Kane’s Pick of the Week: Coppola’s Deli
“For setting a mood, you must have color harmony, and having a limited palette really helps with that. Paint small, paint a lot, and paint with a limited palette. It’s like music — learn basic chords, then go further. I added a new color recently and learned how it interacted with the others on the palette. Color is not a crash course. It takes a lifetime to really learn it. There’s always something more to learn about color.”
— Doug Clarke, “Inspired by the Silver Screen”
