“My favorite place to paint is in Fort Bragg at MacKerricher State Park, near Mendocino,” says Ellen Howard. “On one side of the park is Lake Clone with beautiful marshlands and on the other side of the park is a beautiful beach with views of the mountains.
“I love painting the marshes in the morning and painting the ocean in the afternoon. Most times you get gorgeous cloud formations hanging above the mountains too. There are walking paths along the beach area and spots to go tide-pooling and you can even see horseback riders along the paths. The park has everything for a perfect day of painting.”
