Where the Columbia River snakes through the Columbia Gorge, near the Oregon-Washington border, the scenery is a plein air painting dream come true. Thirty-eight artists recently gathered there for the Pacific Northwest Plein Air 2015 Competition and Exhibition, and some went away with awards.

Bryan Mark Taylor served as juror for the event, which was headquartered in Hood River and wrapped up on August 5.
